“Hey Shark, where are we going?”
Shark led his girlfriend up the stairs and down the dark hallway. He was grateful Lolly picked a night when both of their parents were working. Otherwise, his romantic surprise for Chase may have been ruined.
Tonight’s the night, he thought excitedly, but swallowed hard to keep his enthusiasm in check. Don’t want to scare her.
He tried to recall all the advice his dad had given him when he planned this night. Lolly had inadvertently helped with the sleepover suggestion, although now she was complicit. She knew what was about to happen, even if Chase didn’t. Out of respect for his sister, he did wait until she was asleep before he came to fetch Chase. Now as he stood outside the guest room door, he felt nervous. He had never done something like this before.
“Shark?” Chase whispered, her voice calming his nerves, reaching for him in the darkness.
He felt her squeeze his hand, and he turned around and kissed her hard on the mouth. She melted into his embrace with pleasure as if anticipating his desires. Oh how I need you! he thought with delight.
He grinned as he pulled back, and opened the door to the room. They stepped inside, and Chase gasped. Shark had taken the last hour to prepare the bedroom. He had laid out a trail of candles and placed single roses in crystal vases all about the room. If Chase didn’t know what was happening, she did now. She turned to him with a surprised expression on her face. Shark tried desperately to read her emotions.
“Lolly,” he squeaked, and cleared his throat before awkwardly continuing. “I love you… I love you more than I thought I could ever love anyone in my entire life… and well… you’re the one… you know… you’re my girl… er… my woman… and I want to treat you as such.”
“Shark?” she interjected, but he cut her off, putting his hand gently on her arm.
“I want you… I want to be with you… if you know what I mean… but if this is too soon or too sudden… or if you want to wait…”
She stopped him, laying her fingers on his lips. He trembled beneath her light touch. She leaned in, slowly and tenderly placing a kiss on his lips. He responded in kind. She began to grab his hair with her hand and let her hand trail down his back, teasing his waistline. He moaned and instinctively pushed into her, and she didn’t pull back. Instead, she pressed in, her curves meshing into his own.
After a moment, he pulled back, absently putting a hand to his chest as he closed his eyes.
“Thank you…” he whispered.
His eyes flew open, the heat rushing to his cheeks. “Oh… um… was that stupid?”
“No,” she shook her head, her voice barely above a whisper.
“I love you, Shark Racket,” she clasped his head with her hands, running her fingers through his hair and making him shiver with pleasure. “And I want to be with you too.”
“Okay…” he said nervously, cleared his throat, and said with more confidence, “Okay… cuz I love you, Chase Bayless.”
He did something unexpected. He leaned her back and slowly lowered himself onto her lips. She sighed, and welcomed his kiss. He couldn’t believe this was happening. He was with the woman of his dreams.
They stripped down to their underwear. Chase looked pretty in her lime green panties and bra, Shark thought. He awkwardly rested his hands on his lower abdomen and she mirrored his actions as if waiting for him to take the lead. He wasn’t sure what to do next. It wasn’t like he had done this before.
“Should we make out more?” she asked.
“Oh… yeah… that’s probably a good idea…” he agreed.
He took her hand, rather awkwardly, clasping it in his own. He hoped she ignored his sweaty palms, and was somewhat relieved to find hers were sweating also.
“Don’t be nervous,” he said more for himself than for her.
“Okay…” she relaxed beneath his touch, her shoulders sagging against the pillows.
He kissed her hair, and she closed her eyes and purred like a content kitten. He kissed her forehead, and trailed his lips over her ear and neck. He slid one of her bra straps to the side and continued to kiss her shoulder. Every time he kissed her, she sighed happily. He felt her naturally moving her body into position, beckoning him.
He felt himself grow hard and he had to remind himself not to lose control. He wanted to cherish the moment, and to be respectful to Chase. He didn’t want to rush her, or ruin the moment with his over eagerness. He dropped her back on the pillow gently, and leaned up and over her, coming down onto her mouth. She parted her lips, allowing him into her mouth to explore. It felt wondrous and strange, though not what he would’ve expected. He supposed this might get better with practice. They had never used tongue before.
Shark pulled back as he heard her utter something. She looked deeply into his eyes, the desire for him evident. She smiled shyly and tucked her hand behind his neck. It was all the invitation he needed.
“Ahhhhemmmmm!” a loud voice interrupted them both.
Chase gasped in horror. Shark jerked to the side so quickly he banged his wrist on the headboard. He looked up in shock to see his uncle Bill, standing in his night robe at the end of the bed.
“Wha?” he managed, but had no idea how to continue.
This was not how he envisioned the night.
Chase leaped from the bed, mortified as she frantically scrambled around for her clothes.
“I think you should leave,” Bill said coldly.
“No, you don’t have to go,” Shark motioned to his girlfriend as she jerked her nightgown over her head. “Uncle Bill… we can explain…”
“There’s nothing to explain… I caught you,” Bill growled.
Shark stared at his uncle, puzzled. Of all people to walk in on them… he should’ve locked the door. Didn’t I lock the door? he ran a hand through his hair feeling sick to his stomach. Of all people to be upset to find him here!
“I would’ve thought you’d understand,” he said quietly. “We can talk about this in the morning.”
“We’re going to talk about this alright…” Bill snapped, and glared at Chase. “After your little guest leaves…”
Chase let a little cry escape her lips as she fled from the room. Shark balled his fists in frustration. As soon as the door shut completely behind his girlfriend, Shark lunged at his uncle.
“What the hell was that for?” Shark screeched.
“Shark, you don’t mess with things you don’t understand,” Bill said cryptically.
“Oh… you mean like sex?” Shark grunted. “Well… I’m almost a man.”
“Yeah, but not quite,” Bill snapped. “So you don’t know what you’re doing fully.”
“Uncle Bill… I can’t believe you’re lecturing me. You! Of all people!”
“Son, I’m trying to help you… save you from a miserable choice… you can do better than the Bayless girl, you know.”
“I doubt that… and what do you know?”
“I know more than you think. Just stay away from her.”
“What? Not on your life! She’s my girlfriend.”
“Not anymore. I’ll be telling your dad about this.”
“I already talked to my dad about this whole thing…” Shark said, even though that wasn’t the entire truth. “Gawd! Uncle Bill… could you be anymore of a buzz kill?”
“I think your dick will survive,” Bill replied.
“It’s not about that!” Shark waved his hands in the air. “You humiliated me and my girlfriend.”
“Would you just shut up?”
“Go on! Wake the whole house, why don’t you? I’d like to see what your mother says.”
“Silver’s at work, or are you so self-absorbed that you’ve forgotten that?”
“Seriously, Shark, I’m warning you… stay away from the Bayless girl.”
“Or what? Are you seriously threatening me? This is a joke..” Shark attempted to walk past his uncle and leave.
“I’ll hurt you,” Bill pulled his hand back into a fist.
Shark’s eyes widened in surprise. Compared to his uncle, he was pretty scrawny. He was shocked Bill would resort to violence. He put his hands up in defense.
“Stop it! You don’t know what you’re saying.”
“You have no idea the shame you bring on this family…”
“Talk about shame! That’s rich! Uncle Bill… you’ve done way worse…”
“Yeah, and it’s because of what I’ve done that I’m stopping you from making the worst mistake of your life.”
“Oh enlighten me. What mistake is that?”
“Chase is your cousin.”
