City Goal #2: Take My Hand (LASL)

Hey everyone, I’m on the train out of San Myshuno now. I know, not the airplane. Long story. I’ll explain below. I thought I’d update you first. First of all, I have to thank Larry Spinks for officiating our marriage vows, and his wife, Madeline, who served as our witness, official photographer, and guest. Sorry all, I would’ve invited you if I had known what was going to happen.

We approached the justice of the peace. You’d think as a perfectionist I’d be worried about everything being…well, perfect. But somehow, everything felt perfect already. We walked up the steps onto the gazebo, holding hands, and with each step, I felt peace flood my heart. No nerves. No butterflies. Just joy. That’s because everything was right this time. When he looked over and winked at me, I knew it deep in my bones. Joseph was my soulmate.

“Do you have the rings?” Justice Larry asked.

Joseph squeezed my hand. “Can I have it?”

I gasped. “I don’t have a ring for you.”

“Don’t worry about it,” he shrugged, gently sliding the ring he had just given me off my finger. “And you’ll get it back.”

I wanna see you run
Anywhere you want
Never let the darkness hold you back
No fear of getting lost

I wanna see you fly
Way beyond the sun
Anything you’re ever gonna dream
I pray that it will come

But if you ever fall down straight to the bottom
And you can’t get back where you started
Any place any time
You gotta know for you I’ll fight

Where you wanna go
I’d love to take you there
Wish that I could make the road easy
I wish that life was fair
Don’t wanna see you cry
Even when it rains
And I hope you don’t forget this
You were born for better things

But if you ever fall down straight to the bottom
And you can’t get back where you started
With no strength to stand
Gonna reach for your hand
When the going gets rough
Right when it’s hurting I will be there
To help any burden
Any place any time
You gotta know for you I’ll fight
Any place any time you
Gotta know for you I’ll fight

Anywhere you go
Your gonna find me
No matter what you need
If you ever fall down and you can’t get back
If you lose your strength to stand

If you ever fall down
And you can’t get back
If you lose your strength to stand

If you ever fall down straight to the bottom
And you can’t get back where you started
With no strength to stand I’m gonna reach for your hand

When the going gets rough right when it’s hurting
I will be there to help any burden

Any place any time
You gotta know for you I’ll fight

Any place any time
You gotta know for you I’ll fight

I cried. Who wouldn’t? I was so overwhelmed. My eyes were blurry as I tried to write my name on the marriage license. I came to the city to find an apartment and I will come back as a married woman.

Introducing Mr. and Mrs. Simself… or Green… we haven’t settled on that yet. 😉

The Spinks’ celebrated with us. It was all surreal. Madeline snapped a few more pics of us.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the selfies Joseph tried to take of us because neither one of us could keep a straight face without giggling. I tickled him. We were so excited about our newlywed-ness that we missed our flight.

“Plum!” I looked out at the world from the train station. “The next train bound for Southern Simvada isn’t leaving until almost seven tonight. And it’ll take us three days to get back to the Springs.”

“That’s okay,” Joseph said as we walked to the train platform. “I’m not ready to share you yet.”

Author Notes: Thanks for reading everyone. I was happy about all their autonomous sweetness. Joseph decided to recite a ballad at the wedding and Lizzie “serenaded” him. I was having the weirdest time writing the scene and doing it justice, but then I decided to just use song lyrics. This song, I’ll Fight, a Daughtry cover, nightcore style, popped up on my playlist and I thought Bingo! (Listen to it! It’s amazing!!!!). It was perfect for their vows. So I seriously can’t take credit for that, but I think it works great for the story.

This chapter featured skcaga6‘s Larry and Madeline Spinks and LegacySims2017‘s Joseph Simself. I recognize a justice of the peace typically can’t legally marry couples outside their district, but this is the Sims (where you can just “pop” between worlds), so I decided in my Simworld that judges can legally marry couples anywhere in the SimNation.

This chapter had a bit of pic spam. Lol. But it was too cute to not put in all the pictures. San Myshuno doesn’t have a train station, but I decided to go with it as it was easier to write than download an airplane lot (or make one of my own since I’m lazy). I can’t figure out what happened in the background with the clouds, but I didn’t really want to edit it. Too lazy. The wedding celebration legitimately went longer than intended in game as the sun started to go down. Lizzie’s wedding ring was designed by S-Club and you can download it over on TSR.

I was playing around in Forgotten Hollow with my new Sim-couple and well, a story bloomed. Lol. So now I’m going to give you shorts called “Side Tracks on Monday-Thursday (just so I get through them quickly-ish so I can deliver and you will all get to see the awesome Sims you all submitted sooner). So we’ll have at least two weeks of Monday-Friday posts. I binge wrote over the weekend after binge playing. 🙂 So for Lizzie/Joseph fans… you’re welcome. 😛

Thanks again for reading. See you Monday!

  1. I never thought about using song lyrics during the ceremony and I have to say that was a stroke of genius on your part. It added to the charm of the impromtu ceremony along with making perfect sense. There would have not been any time for them to write wedding vows and the lyrics gave it a touch of romance.

They really do look so sweet together 🙂
