Babies and Butterfly Kisses

Following the release of TS4’s “too many toddlers” scenario, I decided why not? I’ll just load up a game and play for fun. Never. That’s just not my style. This story will document my journey through the “scenario” combined with a longer-term challenge created by simssav – Occult Baby Challenge.

July 31, 2022 Notes: I will eventually return to this story, but I lost some of the content, CC was corrupted, and there have been A LOT of TS4 game-breaking updates.

Rules:

  • create a YA founder human Sim (must be able to get pregnant)
  • build a relationship with each occult sim (no woohoo before friendship)
  • have at least 1 boy and 1 girl baby with each occult/supernatural
  • to move a child out of the home, child must have reached level 5 in skill related to their occult

July 31, 2022 Notes: I got side-tracked with berries lore and worldbuilding and never finished this story. I have an idea on how I want to integrate this story with another of mine. In the meantime, enjoy a bit of berry/berrie lore and a few chapters of Vanilla.

Generation 1: Snowberry

Trying to escape a legacy of Christmas cheer and holiday pressures, Vanilla “Nilla” Bliss Winterhold moves across the world to Mt. Komorebi. Nilla has always lived her life in a nice, neat little box, but she hopes to leave behind her “vanilla” world. Will the family “winter” home in the Kamomīru District be just the escape she needs to find a little color, laughter, and love?

March 26, 2021 Update: Another story that has been lost along the way is Introvert’s Guide to the World (chapters are still available on my Sim Shorts page as The Continuing Adventures of Aspen Beckett). I’m sorry.  I just don’t feel like recreating the sets and characters for her story/legacy. Maybe someday I’ll do a revamp/rewrite, but not now.

Crescent Moon Conspiracy

Ever since she was a little girl, Parker Green heard the stories of the Black Moon Forest. Traveling to Avalon to study the ways of the spellcasters is a dream come true. However, Parker discovers adjusting to life abroad will be more complicated than she could have imagined. Despite the tradition of opening the borders every festival season, many locals are difficult and downright hostile toward outsiders. And that is the least of Parker’s problems.

The mountain merchant town of Glimmerbrook is more crowded than usual with the announcement of an engagement between a Avalonian wizard and a Highlander princess. The union of these two noble families will secure peace and prosperity between the ancient sovereign nations of mages and fairies. Yet the impending nuptials are overshadowed by the passing of the vampire Count Vladislaus Straud and the rise of his vengeful Unseen Queen, sending the ruling classes scrambling for power and position.

When Parker discovers a plot against the highborn families, she is quickly thrown into the dazzling and dangerous world of politics, prestige, and parties. With the help of her childhood best friend, a mysterious diplomatic agent, an eccentric investigator, and a bewitching engineering student, can Parker determine who is behind a series of “accidents?” Unearthing a long buried secret may be the only way to prevent catastrophe, but it threatens to unravel the Alliance of Magic.

November 11, 2017 Update: Unfortunately, I lost this game. I’m sad, but I’m thinking of continuing the concept of a ISBI challenge with my Simself instead so ALOW will have a whole new feel, but I’m abandoning Jenara’s tale. Sorry for the bad news! 

The journey begins with Jenara Yearling (January). Raised by her elderly great aunt, Nova Yearling, Jenara has been independent and self-sufficient since the tragic death of her parents when she was seven. Now with the passing of her great aunt, Jenara has inherited the family home in Oasis Springs, Simvada. Jenara wants to start a family because she has never really had one of her own. She hopes to find love, life, and happiness in her new hometown. Will she find the partner of her dreams and have a houseful of children, providing for future generations to survive and thrive?

Welcome to Hollidaysburg, where the spirit of Christmas lasts year-round. May your days here be festive and bright!

Hollidaysburg is a festive place to live. It’s Christmas 24/7 – and the beautiful snow-covered city could not be a more perfect place to be for showcasing your holiday spirit. The town is now recruiting shopkeepers for its storefronts. Each position comes with a modest salary and living accommodations available for rent or purchase, typically above the store. There will also be other businesses around town for other Sims to own, rent, or patronize.

Author Note 1/27/2022: Sadly, I think this story is for the archives. I just don’t feel inspired to write it anymore. I love the concept and the idea, but I really want to focus on other stories of mine. Home for the Holidays will live on via this Shorts page.

I Have Never

This is the story of a woman, learning what it means to be alone again, and exploring her self-identity and forging new paths. I plan to walk through a “wish list” of sorts with this character as she meanders through late life and widowhood, and finding new meaning. Sometimes death can give birth to new purpose.

Update: August 19, 2017: I have decided to discontinue this series. I have many other stories I would like to give time to, and frankly, I’ve lost momentum and inspiration for this story. However, I do plan to write something about my Simself adventures again in the future. 

When Lizzie receives an assignment from her teacher to write to a pen pal, she would’ve never guessed her writing buddy was an alien in disguise. While the assignment was only supposed to last a year, Lizzie and ARP-0107X, whom she nicknames Arpeggio, develop and friendship throughout elementary school into their teenage years and adulthood. Arp inserts himself into a family and tries to act like a Sim. The only soul who knows the truth is Lizzie, whom he has never met face to face. Will their alien-Sim friendship stand the test of time?

Return to Brindleton Bay

One moment. One decision. It changed her life forever. Seventeen year-old Carrie Buckley has never had an easy life, but one unforgettable night cost her everything she has. No longer a girl and not yet a woman, how will Carrie forge her own path and what will she discover about self, spirit, and life?

Carrie’s getting a spin-off! This is part of Generation 2, but she’s getting her own story. I already started playing around in the world in the winter and it is breathtaking! Carrie returns to her hometown of Brindleton Bay, a lost and frightened, soon-to-be teenage mom.

In order to randomize some of the elements in the following generations, I numbered all the worlds in TS4 and all the game/stuff packs/expansions in order to try and play out elements I haven’t tried before. On Carrie’s roll, I knew I wanted her to be in Brindleton Bay because I’ve had this title in mind for a long time. I did roll for her corresponding stuff/game or expansion pack in order to play out the elements related to it. Carrie got: Outdoor Retreat. 

Author Note: As I am rewriting the entire gen 1, Carrie’s story unfortunately got dropped. She will be reincarnated in The Starlight Saga in a different way.
